5-Minute Streamlined Beauty Routine for the Busy Woman

A 5-minute streamlined beauty routine for the busy woman is what we all need right now. Yes, it is that time of year again. Our days are getting shorter, the nights are getting cooler, and it’s time to get back to the books. It’s go-time again for so many of us, whether you are a mom, Nana, anything and everything in between. It’s the time to streamline our daily routines. I’ve got it down to a few products in five minutes
and I promise you can do it too!

After cleansing my skin, I go for the 1-2 punch of a tinted moisturizer and sunscreen combination. My tip for getting my face evened out in a flash is a BB cream, tinted moisturizer, or flesh tinted sunscreen. These types of products are a clever all-in-one, super easy, no-brainer, hero-level product! Some have lots of coverage, some have very little to none. But, there are choices out on the market for everyone’s preference.

If you like the super full coverage you will be thrilled with Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage BB Cream, because this puppy is full-on full coverage, no questions asked, take no prisoners! I honestly don’t know why it’s called a BB cream because this baby is a foundation. So for those of you who like it heavy and strong, Jane Iredale is your girl!

On the opposite end of the spectrum is one of my personal favorites, Andalou Naturals Vitamin C BB Beauty Balm Sheer Tint SPF 30. This is perfect for drier skins in good condition because this is quite light coverage.

If you’re not so much into green beauty and you like a little French in your life, you might want to check out one of my all-time favorite products from CVS pharmacy. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 Tinted. This is a perfect dupe for Dr. Perricone’s No Foundation Foundation, but readily accessible at your local pharmacy.

Here is a money-saving tip for you as well, whenever you shop at CVS for items with Xtra-bucks, save them up and you can use them on the tinted sunscreen because it is retailing at right around $35. My biggest score so far with using all my stashed Xtra bucks was paying $11! Now, that was a good day!!

Somewhere in between on the coverage spectrum, there are other brands like: Lily Lolo BB Cream, 14E Aloe Nourish Sheer Tint, W3LL PEOPLE All Natural Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer SPF 30, and Physicians Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm Cream, just to name a few.

The next thing you want to tackle is a bit of color. For almost everyone, let’s face it, a little bit pop of color will make you look more joyous and put together. Here’s where I roll out the multipurpose cream lip/cheek products. I have a full gamut of choices for you. For the ultimate shortcut, use your lipstick on both lips and cheeks!
I apply to the lips from the tube then tap the color into my lips with my finger for a more natural “just bitten” look. Basically, my belief is that: if it looks good on your lips, it’ll look good on your cheeks.

I love the range of shades from pinks to reds. All the colors are wearable on both lips and cheeks, so you can carry this around in your bag really easily for touch-ups throughout the day or when you’re flying out of the house.

RMS Beauty Lip Shine

I love RMS as well. Smooth, moisturizing, and it’s simply very easy to carry around with you. They’ve also got a great array of colors to choose from.

So now that the skin is evened out and protected from Mr. Sun (damage) and we’ve got a pop of color, next up are brows. If you’ve got lush, healthy, full Cara Delivigne type of brows, you’re going to be able to skip this step. Or perhaps, you will only need a clear brow gel to tame the frame!

However, if you are not blessed in that department, it is a step that you cannot skip if you want to look put together. I use a tinted brow mascara on top of a pencil because this woman needs both! If your brows are only silver threads like mine, a brow powder or pencil applied first then a swipe of tinted brow gel to the left and right will make a world of difference!

Brows are quite personal and many of you have found products that work for you. A tinted brow gel like Jane Iredale’s PureBrow gel or even ELF’s clear brow gel would be a good place to start experimenting if you are new to these types of products.

Lastly, for those gorgeous eyes of yours, you can get away with a classic curled lash and a bit of mascara. Again, mascara is also very personal. Not one mascara fits the bill for everyone, so please have fun with all of them.
One chic-step further? A fabulous pair of sunglasses and a low chignon. Voila! Very French, very chic!

Of course, if you have more time you can go crazy but, that’s another topic. If you’re a minimalist or simply in a rush, you never really need any more than this. For some of you, even this routine is too much and for others, this is only the beginning! *insert laughter* Wherever you find yourself, whether, on the spectrum from full-on glam to minimalist chic, these tips for a quick five-minute face will guarantee you look presentable and in charge!
