Bright Spring Inspired Makeup Tutorial

For most of you, can you feel that new zing in the air? If so, then guess what? Spring is finally here! Spring is very short lived in my neck of the woods. It quickly goes from allergies to heat stroke, all within two months. But, I still love the warmer weather full of sunkissed skin, bright lipstick and if you live in the south, big hair.

Anyway, one season at a time. I’m here to show you my favorite spring-time look. As always, I gravitate towards letting my natural skin shine through and just complimenting my face with a classic eye look paid with a bright lip. Definitely nothing too fancy especially because I want to get outside as quick as possible and enjoy the day without worrying my face is peeling off. For summer time, you can easily pair this look with bronzed skin (all the while using sunscreen, of course!) and you’ll be all set!

Skin Prep

First and foremost, prep that skin with moisturizer and SPF! I love Good Medicine’s Clarity Face Cream mixed with Kari Gran’s Three Sixty Five SPF. I’ve been using this duo for months and I’m loving it!

Eye Prep

After I prep my skin, I add a few taps of Au Naturale’s Flax Concealer Powder under my eyes to brighten under my eyes.

Quick side story! When I was in Charleston a couple weeks back, I stopped by Wildcraft, Charleston’s Organic Skincare + Green Beauty Destination to pick up a few things. One of the green goodies that I bought was Gressa’s Minimalist Serum Foundation. I’ve tried Gressa before, but this time I had to pick up a full size bottle. I also stopped by Maya Chia’s HQ and took home their Highlight of the Day. Using this combo together has been beautiful! The Highlight of the Day gives you such an amazing natural glow. Paired with Gressa’s Minimalist Serum Foundation, it’s a match made in heaven.

Then I added Au Naturale’s Warm Bronzer to my forehead and hollows of my cheeks and Root Pretty’s Blushing Bronze in Sunniest to the apples of my cheeks.

Eyes & Brows

For eyeshadows, I kept it super simple. I added a little dimension to the outer corner using Root’s Deep Brown Brow Powder and used Teri Miyahira’s Lucky eye shadow to brighten up my inner corners. I also used Lucky on my cupids bow and down the bridge of my nose! Then I curled by lashes and used my favorite black mascara by Lilylolo on my top and bottom lashes!

I gotta fill in those brows! So I use my favorite brow pomade by Root Pretty in Deep Brown Brow Pomade in Deep Brown. I also used their Pretty All Day Gel Liner for a subtle winged look.

Onto my favorite part of this look, the lips! I used Ilia’s Lip Conditioner in the shade Shell Shock. It’s a beautiful coral, pinky shade! It’s so moisturizing too! I am in love with this bright, fun and perfect for Spring look!

We hope you love this look and that it inspires you to create your own fun spring beauty look! Let us know how are you planning on welcoming the Spring!
